Reception

The Pastoral Centre reception desk is staffed from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday and from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm on Sundays. The receptionist can assist you with information about church activities and services as well as support services and emergency relief and can connect you with community members and staff.

Pastoral Consultation

A priest is generally available for pastoral consultation every Tuesday to Friday from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm except Public Holidays.

Hospitality

Whenever the Centre is open, the Eymard Room (named after the founder of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation, St Peter Julian Eymard) offers a comfortable and relaxed environment in which to sit and rest. A number of current journals and other publications are available to read. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, a team of volunteers serves tea, coffee and biscuits for a nominal fee. Hours for this service are as follows:

Wednesday 10.30 am – 2.00 pm
Friday 10.30 am – 2.00 pm
Sunday 10.30 am – 2.00 pm

Art Exhibitions

The Eymard Room serves regularly as an exhibition space for art. To enquire about arranging an exhibition, contact Brigitte Remmen at bwremmen@bigpond.net.au.

Meeting Spaces

There are several spaces in the Pastoral Centre which may be booked for meetings at modest rates.Bookings must be made using the assigned form.Initial enquiries may be made via reception or by email to pastoralcentre@blessedsacrament.com.au. Management of the bookings is the responsibility of the Pastoral Centre Co-ordinator.

MacKillop Room

Named after Blessed Mary MacKillop who was baptised at St Francis' Church. This multi-use space is ideal for meetings and small group conferences for up to approximately 30 people.

Geoghegan Room

Named after the first Pastor of St Francis' Church, Rev Patrick Bonaventure Geoghegan OSF. This may be used in boardroom style for meetings of up to 10 people or in seminar style for about 15 people.

Goold Room

Named after James Alipius Goold OSA, the first Bishop of Melbourne (and later Archbishop of Adelaide) who was installed in St Francis' on 4 October 1848. It has the same dimensions as the Geoghegan Room.

The Geoghegan Room and the Goold Room can be used separately or opened up to provide a space for larger gatherings.
